Orchid Holds First Group Training Seminar for Hotel Users

Wednesday, November 26, 2008 – Orchid Travel Network today held its first group training seminar for hotel users, including managers, reservations staff, front desk clerks and sales representatives that utilize the system on a daily basis.  The half-day seminar was held at the Belize Biltmore Plaza, with significant participation of approximately 55 people representing 30 properties.

The training was delivered by Orchid’s Managing Director, and Chief Engineer, Demian Solano.  In addition to an overview of the company, and a discussion on general concepts of the online booking system, the session focused on the specifics of the Orchid Desktop tools, including in-depth demonstrations on property configuration, reservations management, group bookings, split reservations, business sources and reporting.

Even though ongoing support and one-on-one training sessions are always available for users, additional group seminars are being planned in the various destinations.  Users and those interested are encouraged to participate, as the group sessions are free of charge, and will always highlight the newest system upgrades.

This project will be launched this month, and has current participation of approximately 81 hotels throughout Jamaica, including Montego Bay, Negril, Ocho Rios, Port Antonio, Kingston, Mandeville and the South Coast.
